Loch Sport Neighbourhood Watch.
Loch Sport Unit Established 1989
We celebrate our 20th anniversary in October 2009 – watch for details
Loch Sport Neighbourhood Watch (Wel 1) meets on the second Tuesday of the month at the Health Centre, corner of Graham Street and National Park Road at 1.30 pm.
The prime purpose of Neighbourhood Watch is working with the local police in "Creating Safer Communities". Police officers attend the meetings to present crime statistics and offer advice on community safety. All are welcome.
The township has been divided into zones, each with a zone representative who keeps an eye on activities and reports any unusual behaviour to police. To assist with this, NHW has available forms for “Absent from residence” and “Holiday home register”. This information is passed on to police and ensures that your property will be checked over whenever they are on patrol. The “Senior Citizens register” records contacts and access details for older people, especially those living alone.
Also available are marking pens and engravers for community members’ use, along with NHW signs in various sizes.
The Area Coordinator is Lisa Timms (5146 0943), Secretary is Don Tanner (5146 0747) Treasurer and Editor of the monthly newsletter is Lynne Stuart (5146 0496). Information about NHW can also be obtained from Loch Sport Police on 5146 0556.
